Dr. C. L. Spivey is a native of South Florida and is a third generation Christian. He was baptized at the age of 8 and his interest in preaching began at the age of 12, under the tutelage of his father, Dr. I.C. Spivey. Brother Spivey has been a full-time fixture in the Lord’s pulpit for nearly 20 years.
 
Brother Spivey’s secular background is in Information Technology. He is retired from the United States Air Force with 20 years of active duty service. His military service allowed for extensive travel to more than 15 countries. 
 
Dr. Spivey holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Biblical Studies, a Masters Degree in Theology, and a PhD in Ministry.  He has guided tours, presented lectures, and done historical studies in Athens, Corinth, Thesslonica, Pompeii, and the Vatican in Rome.

Dr. Spivey has served in ministerial capacities at congregations in Greece, Colorado, Italy, Florida, and Missouri. While residing in southern Italy, he preached through an interpreter before setting up an English speaking congregation that thrives today in Naples, Italy.

Dr. Spivey’s evangelistic experience includes outreach to Christians in the Western and Eastern Caribbean, Ghana, and other regions of Africa's Ivory Coast. Men trained by brother Spivey are now preaching, teaching, and baptizing others throughout Europe, Africa, and the United States. He is married to Karen Spivey and his children are Justin, Tenisha, and Nicholas. Doctor Spivey presently serves very proudly as Ministering Evangelist to the Lake Ida Church of Christ in Delray Beach, Florida.
